Kimberly Huffman, the director of the orphanage to which our vitamins go, left a thoughtful message on her blog expressing her appreciation for this project. We are happy to know that what we are doing is inspiring, and that we are making a difference. You can see the blog post at http://huffmansinkenya.blogspot.com/2012/03/vitamins.html.
We have recently received attention from a fundraising ideas blog. They wrote a very informative article that discusses how our project got started. You can visit the blog at, fundraisingideas.com.
Peter received his first vitamin last week. Peter is the orphan that does all of the photography for our site! Many of the children haven’t been able to take the vitamins because there has been an outbreak of ringworms among the children. The vitamins and the ringworm medication do not mix well, so they are just now beginning to regularly take them.
The article, ” Vitamins for the Malnourished“ covers the topic of what vitamins could do for malnourished children. It also covers some of the causes of malnutrition and how it can harm children.
The Mattaw village has received its first shipment of vitamins from this project. We are happy to say that it was a complete success, and the children love the vitamins. Our shipment had enough vitamins to supply the children with one vitamin a day for the next 3 months. Please keep buying cards so we can keep the children supplied.
